Jorge Sammour-Hasbun, Manager
Jorge is the new Manager of the Boston Blitz having taken over from Matt at the end of the 2008 season. Jorge handles all personnel decisions, team selection for each match and helps provide our team members with current and knowledgeable information about their opponents and the type of positions they play.
Matt Phelps, Assistant Manager
Matt is now Assistant Manager after being the Manager of the Blitz since it’s creation in 2005. Matt sets up the equipment for all matches and helps Jorge with behind the scenes administrative work. Matt also serves as the back-up Tournament Director should Philip not be available.
Mark LaRocca, Beat Reporter
Mark assists with the set-up of the equipment and playing room, and he also writes a weekly report on the matches. Mark is currently an Expert level player although he has reached Master in the past. He actively plays and gives lectures at the Metrowest Chess Club.
Philip Nutzman, Tournament Director
Philip is the Tournament Director onsite, which is required by the USCL to ensure fair play amongst teams. Philip also helps with the set-up of the equipment and playing room.
