New England’s only professional chess team, Boston Blitz, is looking for sponsors and donations to help with the costs of competing in the United States Chess League (USCL).

Over the last couple of seasons the Blitz have come so close to winning the USCL Championship, losing the previous two year’s final to Dallas and getting knocked out in the Conference Championship the year before.

However, to help us keep competing with the best in the league, by recruiting our local Grandmasters and the brightest up and coming juniors, we need to rely on the gracious support of our local community.

Funds are needed to guarantee reimbursement of fees for players (such as travel), provide equipment and technical assistance for matches, maintain the team website, etc.  Currently, we are staffed by volunteers who graciously donate their time.  However, with the rise in popularity of the US Chess League and Internet play in general, it is becoming more and more costly to compete.
